Alongside our constant quest for product perfection and performance, we lay as much emphasis on ensuring that all our operations are responsible and sustainable.
While constantly exploring solutions that reduce the environmental impact of leather production, we are committed to minimising our energy consumption and usage of water in the process of production.
We also undertake initiatives that result in curtailing air and noise emissions.
While we increasingly use solar energy and recycled packaging material, all our plants are equipped with waste management and effluent treatment systems to facilitate chemical management.
Towards operations management, we have stringent norms for Health, Safety & Emergency preparedness in place as we believe it is our duty and social responsibility to protect our people at the workplace.
To endorse our practices, we have applied for and achieved Gold Certification (Premium) from the Leather Working Group, a not-for-profit membership organisation, working to create meaningful change across the global leather supply chain. This collaborative initiative between footwear, apparel and upholstery brands and leather manufacturers across the globe, audits companies to assess operations within the leather production chain, towards raising the bar for best practice in the industry.
The audit protocol used by the LWG assesses the environmental performance of leather manufacturers, based upon best practices within the industry, and certifies good environmental practices. Manufacturers with scores at 85% receive Gold certification, those with 75% are certified Silver and Bronze certification is awarded to those with 65% scores. We have been awarded the Gold certification, the highest rating applicable to leather manufacturers.
We have also received ISO 14001, SA 8000 & Reach Norms certifications.
